2 Min Read

Ministers were subjected to thorough screening for coronavirus as they arrived at the Presidential Villa for the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari is presiding over the meeting that is also being attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; the Head of Service, Mrs Folasade Yemi-Esan; and the National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd).

Also screened were Permanent secretaries and other officials from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), who came for the meeting.

The Herald learnt that while they were first screened as they alighted from their vehicles and entered the Villa’s lobby, they were further screened at the entrance to the Executive Council Chambers.

It was gathered that their body temperatures were checked and they were given hand sanitisers to disinfect their hands.

After the two screenings, they were allowed entrance into the venue of the meeting.

Reports say that full screening at the State House commenced on Tuesday, with workers and visitors being subjected to the exercise before being granted access.
