Hollywood actor, George Clooney has been linked with a takeover bid for second-tier Spanish football club, Malaga.
According to reports, a powerful production company in Malaga wants to turn the city into the “European Hollywood” and a series is being shot there for Amazon while the football club is being negotiated with.
According to Canal Malaga, the Qatari businessman is demanding £86million for the sale of the club. But the US investors, which George Clooney is part of are hoping a deal can be agreed for considerably less than the Sheikh’s asking price.
Malaga were Champions League quarter-finalists as early as 2013 and their club president Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani was suspended over accusations of improper management.

A fortnight ago, he was asking 100million euros for Malaga. What they are prepared to offer is much more than the amount he paid for the club (36million euros) and talks are ongoing.
On Friday, they called the Americans to say they were willing to negotiate,”
