According to reports, violence has erupted in Olomore Market, Abeokuta on Thursday morning as dozens of Hausa traders protested the death of one of their fellow traders during an alleged shooting by Operatives of the Special Anti – Robbery Squad (SARS).
According to The Nation, Hausa traders selling Onions, pepper, tomatoes, yam and fruits, allegedly went violent, smashing objects, including the operational vehicle of the Ogun State owned Television broadcasting station and many other property in sight.
SARS operatives were chasing some suspected criminals towards the Olomore market when they started firing at them as they ran into the midst of the traders.

This resulted in a riot by the traders in Olomore market who were later joined by those from a market close by.
They marched towards Olomore with bonfires mounted in various locations. People fled in different directions looking for where to hide.
