2 Min Read

Human Rights Activist and Convener of #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore’s trial has been adjourned.

The #RevolutionNow Convener has been re-arraigned on fresh charges of treasonable felony while charges of fraud, cyberbullying and insult to the President have been removed.

Recall, The Herald earlier reported that Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka and former lawmaker Shehu Sani were in Abuja to show support to the embattled human rights activist who is currently facing charges of treasonable felony among other allegations.

However, the court who awarded N200,000 worth of damages in favour of Sowore has adjourned his trial hearing till March 11,2020. The convener of ‘Revolution Now’ will be tried alongside his co-accused Olawale Bakare.

It would be recalled that Sowore was arrested on Aug 3, 2019 following a planned protest to lament over the perceived maladministration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
