Boko Haram: Abducted Ex-NYSC Member Rejects Offer To Be Freed

Abraham Amuta, former member of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has rejected an offer of freedom, stating he would like to remain with Boko Haram terrorists.

Amuta who was abducted alongside few other persons on April 10th, 2019 told the agents who went to Sambisa to negotiate his freedom not to bother. He revealed he has chosen a new life with the terrorists as he has already renounced his christian faith, according to a report by Daily Trust.

The ex-NYSC member was serving his fatherland when he was abducted alongside Moses Oyeleke, Pastor of Living Faith Church a.k.a Winners Chapel. A schoolgirl identified as Ndagiliya Ibrahim Umar was also among those abducted.

They were on their way to Chibok to deliver relief materials to persons affected by the insurgency when the terrorists attacked them.

While Oyeleke regained freedom in Nov 2019 upon intervention of two separate Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), the NYSC member remained in captivity at the mercy of the Boko Haram insurgents.

However, fresh reports claim he no longer desires freedom.

Negotiations were suspended after he revealed his new stance, opting to remain with the terrorists.
