Samuel Adediran has been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari, as the Surveyor-General of the Federation.
The news of his appointment was disclosed in a letter signed by the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, dated January 29, 2020 with reference FMPW & H/42935, according to The PUNCH.
In a statement issued by the OSGF on Friday, Minister Fashola in the letter said;
“I am pleased to inform you that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has approved your appointment as the Surveyor-General of the Federation.
“This is in accordance with the powers conferred on him (President) by Section 171 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).”
The appointment which took effect from January 10, 2020, will be for a term of four years in the first instance and shall be renewable depending on satisfactory performance.

The OSGF stated that Adediran had served previously in several ministries, departments and agencies of government, including offices and units responsible for survey activities.
The OSGF said;
“He has written several award-winning papers. Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Using Geospatial Data is one of such,” the OSGF stated.
