Manchester United have agreed to sign Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United have finally agreed to sign Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.

The deal will cost United 80 million Euros but they will first have to pay an initial fee of 55 million Euros.

Though there has been an agreement between both clubs Fernandes’ move is still subject to medicals and personal terms agreement.

The two clubs have been negotiating throughout the January transfer window and an agreement was reached on Tuesday.

“I’m delighted that we’ve agreed [the deal] with Sporting,” said United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“There have been good negotiations with the club and we know, through history, these two clubs have been good with each other.

“Now we’ve reached that agreement, hopefully we can get the boy’s contract over the line and the medical done and then, hopefully we can announce it.”

Mentions were made of a deal with the 25-year-old last summer but the deal could not get over the line.

United will pay an additional 5 million euros if they reach the Champions League qualification but 5 million euros is subject to the player’s participation. The remaining payment of 15 million Euros is based on individual player prices.
