Omokri: Suspected herdsmen attacked pastors, shot 1, kidnapped 1

A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri says that suspected herdsmen have attacked some pastors that were on their way to an annual meeting with General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman.

The US-based pastor, who was Special Assistant to ex-President Jonathan, made this known in a series of tweets.

According to him, one of the pastors was kidnapped while his wife was shot in the head in the Sunday incident.

He said that the couple’s two children were left abandoned by the roadside after the attack.

The Herald could not independently verify the claim, but Suleman retweeted the claims to his followers.

While Omokri did not disclose the location of the incident, Suleman’s ministry is headquartered in Auchi, Edo State.

The ex-presidential aide said that the attack further called into question the Federal Government’s ability to protect Nigerians from criminal attacks.

Recall that the South-West governors on Thursday, January 9 launched Amotekun, the Western Nigerian Security Network, to check kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities in the geopolitical zone.

While many prominent individuals and groups have expressed support for the initiative, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, an association of Fulani herdsmen, says it could be targeted at its members.
