Ronaldo scores brace as Juventus beats Parma to extend lead over Inter Milan

1 Min Read

Cristiano Ronaldo’s brace was the big difference between league leaders Juventus and Parma on Sunday in the Italian Serie A.

Ronaldo has now scored in all of his last seven games of the Old Lady.

His first goal came two minutes before half-time as his deflected shot off Matteo Darmian beats Luigi Sepe in goal.

Andreas Cornelius pulled the equaliser for the visitors with a powerful header but Ronaldo slotted home Paulo Dybala’s pass to restore Juve’s lead three minutes later.

With Inter missing the chance to close the gap on Juventus, the Old Lady pounced to separate themselves from their league title rival by four points with the victory.

The Portuguese is only two games away from equaling David Trezeguet’s record of scoring in 9 straight games in 2005.

Ronaldo could have gotten a hat trick in the game but his effort went straight into the waiting arms of Parma’s Sepe.

Juventus had to hold on in the final minutes of the game as the visitors pushed hard for an equaliser, Wojciech Szczesny made some vital saves and Matthijs de Ligt did well to block Mattia Sprocati’s goal-bound effort late on.
