Fresh crisis hits All Progressives Congress (APC) as members of the National Working Committee (NWC) call for removal of national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, during the first NWC meeting.
The NWC members who made the call on Tuesday insisted that Oshiomhole is no longer qualified to preside over their meeting because he has been legally suspended by the party in Edo state.
Speaking about the matter, the National Vice Chairman (North East), Mustapha Salihu, hinged the reason for the recent crisis on the unilateral endorsement of Waziri Bulama to fill the vacant position of the party’s national secretary.

Salihu threatened to drag him to the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agents should he continue to preside over any meeting without vacating the order legally suspending him from the party.
He blamed all the problems confronting the ruling party on the high handedness of the former Edo State governor.
Earlier, The Herald reported that the national chairman of the ruling APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, revealed why he boycotted Auchi Day celebration in Edo state.
Oshiomhole through his chief Press Secretary, Simon Ebegbulem, said he had told the Otaru of the Auchi Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliru Momoh Ikelebe III about his inability to be at the event due to other pressing matters of state.
According to him, “Comrade Oshiomhole was in Abuja attending to some state functions and being a son of the revered Otaru of Auchi, he communicated his inability to be present to him. The King is his father and he spoke to him as a son, explaining his difficulty in making it down to Auchi on the said day.”
Meanwhile, a close associate of the party chairman who spoke on the matter said: “it was the considered opinion of his strategists to stay away from the celebration in order to avoid a repeat of what happened on November 2, 2019, at the Convocation of Edo University, Iyamho.”
