Wireless earbuds are the rave of the moment as such every OEM that knows its stuff is jumping on that train. Much like the Notch and many innovative tech ideas of the last decade, Apple introduced the priceless piece of jewel that promises unprecedented musical ecstasy. The price of which often runs into hundreds of dollars sometimes more expensive than an iPhone.
Walking in the footsteps of Apple, Samsung, Sony, and countless others, LG has announced its first pair of truly wireless earbuds. The Tone+ Free sports all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a premium earbud of this era.
LG boasts that the Tone+ Free can go from flat to an hour worth of charge in five minutes and a fully charged one will keep you singing along for 6.5 hours.
From the photos, it looks like the case will charge using a Type C cable but nothing’s confirmed yet so we can throw that in the speculation box. But what’s notable is that the case has a built-in ultraviolet light for disinfecting the earbuds while they charge – novel!.
The buds will go on sale in South Korea later this month for a price in the region of 259,999 won ($216).
LG has launched the earbuds in the U.S for a starting price of around $200. What’s been brought to light with the U.S launch is that the TONE Free as dubbed is IPx4 water resistance.
