The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, is presently in a London hospital for treatment to an undisclosed illness.
Mohammed sent a special message to Bauchi people from his London hospital bed ahead of today’s Supreme Court ruling on the appeal against the governorship election in the state.
His Senior Special Assistant on Media, Mukhtar Gidado signed the message made available to journalists in Bauchi on Sunday.
The governor expressed belief in Allah to win at the apex court, after winning at the governorship election petition tribunal and Court of Appeal.
“I am in hospital in London but we strongly believe that Allah is sufficient for us and He is Able and Capable to give us victory! Cheers, success shall be ours InshaAllah! Cheers to you all,” the governor was quoted as saying in the statement.
Mohammed said that the Supreme Court ruling was a time for sober reflection that has exposed both his genuine supporters and political detractors.
However, the governor said he remained steadfast to his promises of engendering a new Bauchi movement while leading with justice, equity and humility.
Mohammed, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated incumbent governor, Mohammed Abubakar of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 gubernatorial election.
