The suspect kept hitting his wife over a minor issue till she slumped and slipped into a coma, then he reportedly fled

the scene of the incident upon realizing she might die.

Mutiu was arrested on Wednesday 25, December following a report by the Father of the deceased. This was revealed

by Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Commands Public Relations Officer.

He said the father of the deceased complained at Ibara division that he was called on the phone that his daughter was

having a misunderstanding with her husband and that she has been beaten to a coma by the husband.

According to Commands PRO Oyeyemi, the deceased’s father stated that he quickly ran to the scene and rushed his

daughter to the General Hospital, Ijaye where the doctor pronounced her dead.

“As soon as the suspect realized that the victim is dead, the suspect took to his heels.

“On the strength of the report, the DPO Ibara division, SP Dada Olusegun, mobilized his detectives and went after

the suspect.

“His hiding place was eventually located and he was promptly arrested,” he said.
