Huawei’s New Foldable Phone Mate Xs, set to be released by February 2020

Huawei will be launching its successor to the foldable Mate X smartphone, the Mate Xs at the Mobile World

Congress in Barcelona which takes place from February 24-27.

The information is according to Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business, which got revealed while

interacting with the French press  Frandroid  at the company’s headquarters in China.

The Mate Xs is a successor to the company’s first foldable phone, the $2,400 Mate X, and it will have a better hinge,

a tougher screen and Huawei’s new Kirin 990 5G chipset.

The Mate X is on sale only in Huawei’s home market of China due to the company’s troubles with the U.S which

rendered all Huawei’s phone useless outside China. The device was a very promising one with sleek designs,

powerful specs and a very beautiful display.

The company hasn’t revealed any details regarding the hardware specs of the foldable phone yet, except saying that it

will be powered by the newer and more powerful Kirin 990 5G chipset. Frandroid has also revealed that the company

plans to finally bring the foldable Mate to Europe in the first quarter of 2020.
