“Minimize Speed and Stay Alive”-Ogun Traffic Compliance & Enforcement Corps

2 Min Read

The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has advised motorists to adhere strictly to specified speed limit to stay alive and avoid crashes during yuletide.

Mrs Temitope Oseni, the Owode-Ijako Unit Commander of TRACE, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun, on Friday.

Oseni said that the advice had become necessary in order to avoid mishap and carnage that could lead to unnecessary loss of lives and property during the festive period.

“I want to urge all motorists to comply with the stipulated speed limit and avoid driving in a direction prohibited by road traffic laws.

“They should also fasten their seat belts to reduce fatality rate in case of accident,” she said.

The unit commander implored motorists to increase their level of concentration, be vigilant and shun drunk-driving that might endanger the lives of other road users.

Oseni also warned motorists against flouting traffic rules and regulations, saying that any erring driver would be penalised.

She cautioned the pedestrians, who would be crossing the road around Owode-Ijako axis, to be careful so as to avoid being knocked down by those driving against traffic.
