President Muhammadu Buhari meets APC governors in Abuja (Photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, December 5, held a closed-door meeting with members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), led by their chairman, Kebbi state governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar.

The Herald gathered that the governors declined to speak with journalists at the end of the meeting. The meeting, which lasted for about two hours held at the presidential villa in Abuja.

The governors who were present included those of Nasarawa, Lagos, Osun, Edo, Ekiti, Jigawa, Kaduna, Niger, Gombe among others. Some other governors were represented by their deputies. Also at the meeting were national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomole, and the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo.

Earlier, The Herald reported that President Buhari on Wednesday presided over the longest meeting of the Federal Executive Council in the history of his administration.

The meeting, which started at about 11:00am at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, was still in session as at 9:30pm. The meeting was scheduled to deliberate on fewer than 25 memos from Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The meeting went for break twice to enable the cabinet members attend to some spiritual obligations and other needs. Buhari had, before the commencement of the Council meeting, inaugurated the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission.

Meanwhile, The Herald reported that Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of Nigeria, presided over the meeting of the Federal Executive Council holding at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock.

The meeting, which started at about 11:00am at the Council Chambers of the State House on Wednesday, was the second meeting that the Vice President chaired since the President, Muhammadu Buhari left the country.
