The Belgium international player sustained the injury at the Madrid 2-2 draw with Paris Saint German(PSG) in the Champions League on

the 27th of November.

Eden Hazard was withdrawn at 70 minutes after being caught by Paris Saint-Germain defender and his fellow Belgian international

teammate Thomas Meunier during their Champions League draw last week.

Initial tests suggested that Hazard only suffered bruises from the challenge but now the player suffers “an incomplete external

microfissure” of his right ankle,  according to the statement released by Real Madrid on Thursday.

Sources had told ESPN that the Belgian National has not recorded any improvement since the end of last week, and underwent further

testing to reveal the source of the continued discomfort.

Hazard was replaced by Gareth Bale against the Ligue 1 giants, and the Welsh international is now likely to get further game-time in his

absence.

A recovery time has not been disclosed, but Hazard is expected to be out of action for at least an additional two weeks.
