Akon has revealed his plan of running for President in 2024.
Akon who is a rapper, record producer, entrepreneur, among others had an interview on ‘The Real’. During the interview, Akon talked about possibly running for President in 2024.
Recall few years ago, Akon had plans of running the presidential race but decided against it after realizing he would have to give up music to focus on politics.
Akon said “I know what the issues are, and as a person, as an immigrant, as a black man, as whatever you want to call it. I kind of know or feel like I know that I can take the country and move it forward.”
Akon is currently involved in various government developmental projects in Africa, including an initiative to provide solar power to countries in need.
When asked about Kanye West also running for Presidency, Akon said: “Well, I don’t think it would be a competition. I honestly need him to run.

Akon went on to describe Kanye West as ‘Awakened’, adding that he is an amazing marketer in the world, adding that a Kanye West Presidential run would be “great for the culture”.
Akon said: “Kanye is not crazy, he’s just be awakened. From a spiritual state, I just feel like he’s awake now. Now he’s the most amazing marketer in the world. He understands his audience, but he’s definitely not crazy, he knows what he’s doing. My thing is, if he does run, it’s great for the culture. Now if you think he’s not fit, that’s another thing, that’s why you got me as another choice.”
