Kogi election: What I will do to Governor Yahaya Bello – Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye has vowed to report Governor Yahaya Bello and other politicians in Kogi state to the International Criminal Court (ICC) over the alleged violence that was recorded during the senatorial and governorship election in the state.

Melaye,  in a post on Twitter on Tuesday, November 19, said what occurred in Kogi state was more of a civil war than an election.

Melaye alleged that 16 people have so far been killed in the Kogi election violence. The senator, when citing an instance of irregularity in Okene local government, said the total number of votes INEC allocated to the APC exceeded the number of Voters Registration Cards (PVC) collected.

He tweeted: “What we had in Kogi is no election, what we had was a civil war that has claimed 16 lives so far. I will report Bello, Smart Adeyemi. Taofik, Speaker Kolawole, and Sunday Faleke to the international community and then proceed to Hague. This I promise.”

Meanwhile, The Herald reported that Senator Dino Melaye claimed that his nephew who was shot yesterday, 16th November at his polling unit. Dino Melaye confirmed this in a tweet on Sunday just few hours after the death of his nephew.

Olorunjuwon, after sustaining  gunshot wounds at Ayetoro ward 1 Unit 4, which was Dino Melaye’s Polling unit on Saturday was confirmed dead early hours of Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  made a strong allegation against  Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and his campaign’s Director-General, Smart Adeyemi, of supposedly plotting the arrest of Dino Melaye before the November 16 Kogi elections.

PDP said the plot was allegedly conceived on Monday during a meeting at the Government House. Gideon Ayodele, Who is Melaye’s media aide, on Tuesday said Bello and Adeyemi with some other All Progressives Congress’ (APC) stakeholders in the state had concluded arrangement to ensure that Melaye was arrested and detained before the elections in November.
