Sowore Has Hurt Me, I May Still Settle His Bail – Apostle Suleiman

2 Min Read
Omoyele Sowore and Apostle Johnson Suleman
Apostle Johnson Suleman, President, Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide,  has indicated interest in standing as surety for Convener, #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore, the founder of an online news agency Sahara Reporters, was arrested by the Department of Security Services on August 3,  for alleged treason after calling for a protest tagged #RevolutionNow.

Apostle Suleman disclosed that he was worried that nobody was ready to stand surety for the online news agency publisher.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle @APOSTLESULEMAN on Monday, Suleman expressed concerns that though Sowore had hurt many people in the past — including Suleman himself — he is of the opinion that Sowore should not be allowed to “rot where he is.  In a situation like this, what will Christ do?” Suleman asked; adding, “am ‘considering’ standing bail for him.”

Earlier, The Herald reported that the trial Judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday, granted bail to Omoyele Sowore, publisher of Sahara Reporters and the convener of #RevolutionNow protest.= alongside his co-defendant, Mr Olawale Bakare.

While delivering her ruling on the bail application filed by the defendant counsels, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, gave the order on Friday, stating that the defendants should be released on bail, with the bail sum of N100 Million.

Recall that the Federal Government through the Attorney General of the Federation had charged Sowore to court on charges of treasonable felony amongst others, after the DSS had detained him for calling for a revolution through a protest which was interpreted to amount to toppling the Buhari government and insulting the person of the President.
