Meanwhile, The Herald reported that there was an uproar in Kogi state on Friday, October 25, as Federal High Court in Abuja confirmed the rejection of two candidates ahead of the governorship election in the state.

The Herald gathered that the court affirmed the decision of Independent National Electoral Commission  (INEC) to reject the candidates of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) and the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP).

In his ruling, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, was said to  have delivered the two verdict on Friday, October 25, upholding the commission’s decision to reject the candidates.

Justice Ojukwu explained that the INEC took its decision based on its constitutional powers to reject the candidates after finding that both parties failed to comply with its deadline for the submission of candidates’ lists and nomination forms.
