I owe no one apology for appointing my daughter as Aide – Gov. Okowa

Ifeanyu Okowa, the Executive Governor of Delta state, has stated he owes no one a debt of apology over the appointment of his daughter as an Aide.

Governor Okowa made this known at a Media Briefing in Asaba, Delta state.

According to him, his daughter was qualified and competent enough to handle the responsibility that comes with the position.

Also, Governor Okowa also reiterated the importance of unity. He said the Peoples’ Democratic Party will ensure the people are well-united, noting that a unity fosters strength, adding that there is undeniable strength in numbers.

In Governor Okowa’s words, “It is not true that I have two of my daughters appointed. I have only one appointed and she is rightfully qualified.

“I do not have any daughter in social media. The one appointed for girl child education is rightfully qualified.

“I do not have any apologies for that because I know the quality of daughter that I have.”

Okowa who spoke on 2023  Governorship election,  said he has no power to handpick a Candidate or make any statement about the election because he can not play God.

“I am not God. I don’t make a Governor. Nobody makes a governor. It is only God that can make one.

“The important thing is we want to ensure there is unity and equity and we will continue to work towards achieving a situation that keeps us United as Deltans realising that working together makes us stronger as a people,” he said
