Is Osinbajo now irrelevant as Buhari disbands EMT and SPIP?

It appears the Vice-President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo may be losing his relevance in governance and on the political scene as he loses leadership of two major government agencies, Economic Management Team(EMT) and the agency he established, Special Presidential Investigations Panel, SPIP.

President Buhari has not only disbanded the Economic Management Team(EMT) led by Osinbajo but also the Special Presidential Investigation Panel, SPIP for Recovery of Public Property which was equally established by Vice-President.

There have been whispers along the corridors of power that these dissolutions show that Buhari wants power to remain in the North and that is the reason, relevant powered agencies such as SPIP and EMT are being taken from under Osinbajo’s control.

The Pan-Yoruba Socio-Political organization, Afenifere, through their Publicity Secretary, Yinka Odumakin has issued a statement concerning this matter.

“It is clearly a vote of no confidence and a loud indictment. His position has become totally redundant and irrelevant.

“Unfortunately, politicians don’t relinquish positions here except they are forced out,” he said

Could this mean the Vice President no longer holds relevance in the Buhari led administration since the major positions he’s held in the corridors of power no longer exist?
