I don’t quite understand gay people …
It’s quite the same way that I don’t understand people that stick needles in their bodies to get tattoo’s. Or guys that wear skinny jeans and crush their nuts in the process … ouch!
It’s the same way that I don’t understand people that actually put pepperoni on their pizza and then eat it … yuck!
It’s the same way that I don’t understand people that bleach their skins or fix weave on their natural hair. Or people that think Coke is better than Pepsi … are you kidding me!
I don’t understand all those things. But I do understand this … that in life we are not going to understand everything. That there are some things that people will do that will confuse us, stump us and befuddle us … but just because we don’t understand them, it does not give us a right to discriminate against those things and those people especially when they are not harming anyone.
Besides we have much more important things to worry about. Things that are actually causing harm to people daily, from poverty, to unemployment, to corruption, to one of my personal issues child marriage. These things impact us at a level that we all can understand and relate to. But rather than focus on these items we tend to focus on things like the way a person dresses or the way they look or the way they have sex … as if it is a strong determinant of the goodness of their character.
But sadly it is not, after-all none of the convicted political criminals that embezzled millions of dollars from Nigeria had tattoo’s or were gay or wore skinny jeans. But yet they stole and we suffered for it and are still suffering from it. But we can mitigate future suffering if we focus on things that matter rather than judging people just because they sin differently from us!
“Don’t judge me because I sin differently from you.” ― Dieter F. Uchtdorf
PS: If you know anyone that could use N5000, let me know who and why below. Please note that this does not mean that because you write something that you are obligated to get something. I wish I could help everyone but I can’t.
