All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu has said he wishes the constitution could be amended in order to grant his successor, Governor Tunde Fashola (SAN) a third term.
He made the comments whilst speaking at the end of the 11th Executive/Legislative parley themed ‘Public Sector Management re-engineering’ held in Lagos over the weekend.
Tinubu represented by Vice chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC Lagos State, Cardinal James Odunbaku, jokingly said he wished the 1999 constitution could be amended to allow the state governor, Babatunde Fashola govern the state for another four years.
Governor Fashola, however urged the National Assembly to rise up and pass laws that will address the security challenges in the country.
Fashola added that passing new laws and amending obsolete laws that would conform to the current trends are what the country needed to proffer solution to the challenges facing it.
“The urgent and compelling challenge that our nation faces now is the one about security and law and order. And I think these are one of the issues that our national legislators should be looking at, at the moment,” Fashola said.
