The House of Representatives has ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu and the Director-General of the State Security Services (SSS), Alhaji Yusuf Magaji Bichi, to shut down the complex of the Edo State House Assembly.
Directing that the security agencies ensure the safety of lives and property in the area, the lawmakers also ordered the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, to issue fresh proclamation within one week and publish same in a national newspaper.

The decision came after the reps debated the crisis in the Edo state House of Assembly.
Recall that Obaseki had accused the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chaired by his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole, of being responsible for the crisis in the state’s House of Assembly.
According to him, the party’s leadership failed to investigate issues in the House of Assembly thus making the crisis linger.
