The Ekiti State Attorney General, Olawale Fapohunda, who led the legal team from the Ministry of Justice to prosecute the case, called three witnesses, including a medical practitioner, Dr Temitope Olasende, who testified that the victim was truly raped.

According to Olasende, the victim was  brought to him after the alleged defilement on September 11, 2017, and “the medical history and investigation on her showed that she had been with her father since two years after her parents got separated.”

Noting that the medical tests show that the victim’s outer vagina was bruised, he clarified that she has no HIV.

Counsel for the defendant, Adeyinka Opaleke, observed that the victim was reported to have been taken to hospital on September 11, 2017, while the medical report was dated January 28, 2019, but Olasende informed the court that the report was issued based on request.
