2 Min Read

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, has reacted to his reappointment by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a chat with reporters in Yola, the Adamawa State capital on Sunday, Mustapha described his reappointment as thrilling and a call to serve.

He said, “I’m overwhelmed by the level of confidence in me by the president and the entire nation to handle the affairs of state from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. In the last couple of days, I have been weighed down by the enormity of the responsibility of my office and the trust placed on me.”

The SGF vowed never to take his responsibilities lightly, given his office’s importance to the administration’s success.

Mustapha added, “Generally, I am thrilled , I am excited because of the responsibilities, but I am also conscious of the fact that this is a trust and I must not take it lightly.”

He said it behooved him to honour God and justify the confidence the president reposed in him while performing his duties.

“I must do everything to honour God and to justify the trust in me by Mr President,” the SGF said.

The president announced the reappointment of Mustapha and his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari through a Friday statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.

The re-appointments took effect from May 29, 2019.
