Pillow Talk: What Obasanjo Told Aisha Buhari

2 Min Read

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has advised Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari to adopt “the bedroom approach” to make her husband get a true picture of the state of the nation.

The controversial ex-president gave this advice in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Monday.

According to his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo said this when he hosted the editorial members of a social media platform, “Penpushing Media” at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) boardroom.

Also, he lauded the president’s wife for having the boldness to speak out against some anomalies in her husband’s administration.

Recall that Mrs. Buhari recently pilloried the Social Investment Programme (SIP) of the administration and charged the military to redouble efforts to end insurgency before every Nigerian was wiped out.

However, Obasanjo said that if Buhari has not grasped the “true state of the nation”, it was because his wife has not engaged him in “pillow talk”.

Obasanjo, who is a frequent critic of the administration, said, “Apparently, the First Lady has not adopted the bedroom approach to get her husband’s attention to the issues.”

He noted that that intensive advocacy and sensitisation would raise awareness about the situation of the country.

Obasanjo noted, “We have to put all things on the table to address these problems. Mind you, we have to be sincere and genuine with ourselves.

“It is nice that the President’s wife is talking. I think she did well, and may be she should also have a pillow talk with the President.”
