The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye has declared his intention to contest Kogi State governorship race against the incumbent governor, Yahaya Bello.
Melaye made this known at a meeting of his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held at Maj Gen David Jemibewon’s Ayetoro country home on Saturday.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had scheduled the Kogi governorship elections for November 16.
Melaye’s decision was also confirmed by his media aide, Gideon Ayodele.
Ayodele said the party leaders at the meeting asked others interested in the race to inform them within two weeks to enable the party to screen them and prepare for the primary election.
