The African Action Congress (AAC) has suspended its presidential candidate in the 2019 general, Omoyele Sowore and eight others.
Also suspended alongside Sowore was the Deputy National Chairman (South West) of the party, Ogunlana Rotimi Jacob.
This was disclosed in a resolution of the party’s National Executive Committee issued in Abuja on Monday.
Mazi Okwy, who read the resolution to journalists, said that Sowore was suspended for anti-party activities.
He said that Sowore’s offence centred “particularly on inflow of illegal foreign funds into the party and personally retaining same in contravention of Section 225 (3)(4) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), together with eight others.”
