The petitioner,  who lives on No 52 Fajuyi St., in Ado-Ekiti, told the court that as a Christian, she made it clear to Abubakar   during courtship that she would not convert to Islam.
She said told the court that Abubakar also promised to abandon his own faith and start going to church.
” As soon as I got he become pregnant,my husband started withdrawing from going to church  with me.
”He also abandoned me in the hospital after I delivered through caeserian operation. He resurfaced three years later and threatened to take away our four- year old child,” she alleged.
Esther pleaded with the court  to dissolve the marriage and grant her custody of the child.
The respondent, Abubakar, 36, who resides at No 25,  Ereguru St., in Ado-Ekiti, admitted to the allegations, but pleaded with the court to save their marriage, saying he still loved his wife.
