Police officers of the Calabar Police Command have arrested some young boys after invading their illegal initiation gathering.

The teenagers, who were allegedly being initiated into the Skylo Confraternity Cult group, were nabbed at Hawkins cemetery in the Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.

However, during interrogation, the suspects stated that they were merely performing burial rites for a deceased member of the group at the cemetery.

Some other nine young men were equally arrested and paraded alongside the suspected cultists for being involved in other criminal activities in the state.

While addressing newsmen at the parade, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State, DSP Irene, stated, “They wanted to use the ceremony to initiate new cult-members into their group.
