Weeks to end of tenure, Ogun state governor concludes plans to borrow $350m

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has disclosed plans to borrow $350m loan from the World Bank.

Amosun, whose tenure in office will end in four weeks from now, said this while meeting with a delegation of the bank in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

Urging the bank to speedily approve the loan, the governor said it would help create a system-driven environment for business.

He said his administration would do everything possible to secure the loan, to support the incoming administration.

Presenting a progress report to the governor, the Task Team Leader for the World Bank, Mr. Kofi Nouve, noted that  major aim was to help the state government put in place necessary reforms and critical social investments that would help uplift the welfare of the populace.

“The team has got the final approval to proceed with the final design mission,” Nouve said.
