33 hoodlums in police net over Fadeyi Killings

Officers of the Lagos State Police Command have secured the arrest of 33 hoodlums who reportedly partook in the recent clash that led to the death of two individuals around Fadeyi area of Lagos State.

While confirming the arrests, the police spokesperson, DSP Bala Elkana, explained that two local shotguns and 10 cartridges were among the numerous dangerous weapons that were found with the suspects.

He narrated that Police officers in the Onipanu Police Station had received a distress call on Wednesday about a clash between rival cult fraternities who were said to be fighting over supremacy in the area and had turned the entire environment into a chaotic one.

He said, “During the scuffle, one Tobi Kuti suspected to be one of the hoodlums and one Samuel Geoffrey of DTD Services, Apapa, who was caught in the web were killed by the hoodlums.”

Bala stated that the force quickly sent Patrol teams and officers of the Tactical Units to the area to calm things down.

“The teams swiftly contained the situation and restored normalcy to the area. The command has deployed more resources to the affected areas for manhunt of other fleeing members of the gangs. Investigation is ongoing,” he said.

He later emphasized that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu cautioned parents to ensure that they know whatever activities their children engage in. And as for the suspects, anyone found guilty of illegal dealings would be prosecuted according to the provision of the law.
