Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said that Southern Nigeria may not get hold of the presidency in the next 20 years.
He made this known in a series of tweets on Sunday while reacting to calls for power to shift to the South in the 2023 general election.
The Herald reported how All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Adamawa State, Alhaji Ahmed Lawal, had called for the North to surrender power to the South in 2023 in the spirit of equity.
However, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal said that the North was not obligated to relinquish power in the next four years.
Aligning with the ex-SGF, Fani-Kayode said, “The assertion that the north will retain the Presidency in 2023 is sadly an accurate one.
“That was the plan all along and be rest assured that that is what is going to happen. Worse still it is quite possible that the south may not get the Presidency for the next 20 years.
“Sadly that is the level of damage the south has has done to itself by consistently producing leaders that are cowardly and feeble and that are always ready to play second fiddle to the north.
“No-one should complain about northern domination again because it is here to stay.”
