Update: UAE Embassy says news of visa suspension for Nigerians is false

1 Min Read

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Nigeria has refuted claims that Nigerians with international passports could no longer get the three months tourist visa which many have used in traveling to the country over the years.

Some days back, there were reports that after five Nigerians were caught robbing a store in Dubai, the UAE government had stopped granting the widely sought after visa.

The Embassy has now reacted to the reports, clarifying that it had no element of truth.

Read the press statement released via its official Twitter account below.

“In light of the press reports published today alleging that the UAE has suspended issuing tourist visas to Nigerian nationals, the UAE Embassy in Abuja announces that these news are inaccurate and stresses the importance of sourcing news from its official channel”.
