Fani-Kayode Begs Nnamdi Kanu, Asari Dokubo To Settle Differences

2 Min Read

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has pleaded with Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu and ex-militant leader, Mujahid Asari Dokubo to resolve their differences amicably.

Recall that Dokubo had criticised Kanu for calling on IPOB members to boycott the 2019 general election.

The IPOB leader had responded by saying that the ex-Niger Delta militant leader should be ashamed of himself for canvassing for votes in the election, which he said was already compromised.

Although the boycott was later rescinded, some analysts believe it contributed to the poor voter turnout in the South East region during the polls.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle to make the plea for a truce on Wednesday, Fani-Kayode said that both men were pursuing the same ends of justice for their people and should therefore not be at loggerheads.

He said, “I call on my two brothers, Asari Dokubo and Nnamdi Kanu to build bridges.

“They may not agree on everything and they may have different opinions on some issues yet one thing remains clear: they are both fighting for freedom and justice and the liberation of their people.”
