Locals find clothes, bones inside human-eating crocodile in Indonesia

2 Min Read

A five-meter crocodile that allegedly devoured a farmer in Indonesia last week has now been captured and killed by a local hunter referred to as Bomoh.

According to an Indonesian man that works with the Fire and Rescue Department, the giant crocodile was dissected as soon as it was killed, in a bid to find out what it had inside its belly.

And to everyone’s surprise, torn clothing materials, broken human bones, which most likely belonged to Yosep Tesu, the farmer it killed, were stuck inside the stomach region of the reptile.

The Fireman further explained that the need to use a Bomoh arose after Police officers and other rescue team members toiled the entire area for many days but still could not sight the crocodile.

He stated, “After eight days of fruitless search, the police then decided to seek the assistance of the bomoh.”

He equally narrated that the reptile entered the trap that was set by the Bomoh. The local hunter had kept a bait on a hook which he positioned about five kilometers away from the area where the deceased had gone to take a pee.

Investigations into the case began when Yosep’s friend visited a police station on March 10 to complain that Yosep had gone to a river bank around 4:30 pm to urinate. However, he had not returned since then

Police officers, Sarawak Forestry Corporation, and Bomba then created a rescue team and began the search.
