Members of the National Peace Committee, including the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah and a former military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, meet with Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo Wednesday night.
It was gathered that the members of the committee proceeded to the Presidential Villa just after it concluded a meeting with the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, around 8pm.

Findings revealed that the series of meetings were aimed at toning down the war of words between the APC and the PDP following the announcement of the result of the Presidential election.
While Atiku has vehemently rejected the result describing it as a robbery of people’s will, the APC, most especially its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, has not spared any opportunity to scorn the former vice president, and his allies.
Through the meeting, the peace committee was asking both parties no to incite violence, by obeying accord they signed during the build-up to the elections.
