Condemning the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Ikeja Electric, Felix Ofulue, said investigations were ongoing on the matter and that the firm would explore all legal means to seek redress.
Ofulue said, “We strongly condemn the rising spate of attacks on our employees. It is simply unacceptable that they should be attacked while carrying out their legitimate duties. Security personnel are doing their job about it; investigations are ongoing and when the report is out, we will explore all legal means possible to seek redress and we won’t take it lightly.
“As a responsible organisation, we have provided multiple redress channels through which customers can express themselves. Even the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has provided a forum for dissatisfied customers to further seek resolution. So, to brutally attack our people in this manner displays a total disregard for humanity, a situation that we will not take lightly.
“Our commitment to providing our customers quality service is sacrosanct; however, Ikeja Electric will spare no resources to bring to justice any person or group of persons, who take the law into their hands by inflicting bodily harms on any of its employees. We will go as far as the law permits as we are duty bound to do.”
