The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate for Lagos State, Mr Jimi Agbaje, on Friday assured residents of Badagry of regular power supply if voted into power in next month’s election.
Speaking at a Town Hall meeting with Badagry residents, Agbaje said he would ensure the coastal town got 1,000 megawatts within the first 18 months of his administration.
“I will build 1,000 megawatts in the first 18 months and another 2,000 megawatts within two and years of my administration.
“It is only when there is regular power supply that our artisans will stop roaming about aimlessly,” the PDP candidate said.
Agbaje also decried the deplorable state of Lagos- Badagry expressway.
“I don’t know if I can call the road that leads to Badagry an expressway because there is nothing express about the road.
“At present, no investor can come to Badagry to invest because of the deplorable state of the road that leads to the town.
“If I am voted into power, I will reconstruct the road so that more investments can come to the coastal town.
“I will also provide portable water supply for the residents,” he said.
He promised to provide qualitative education for Badagry residents by ensuring students sit in classrooms instead of receiving lectures under the tree.
He claimed that the general hospitals in the state had no drugs.
“If you look at the era of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, he did a lot for Lagosians in four years but the government of APC has not done anything since 20 years that they had ruled the state,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that party members and residents of the coastal town came out ex masse to witness the event. (NAN)
