Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have filed a 10-count charge against Babachir Lawal, Ayodele Oke, his wife, Folashade Oke, and five others.
Babachir is the former secretary to the government of the federation, while Ayodele is the former head of the National Intelligence Agency. Reports also revealed that EFCC included Babachir’s company, Rholavision Engineering Ltd, in the lawsuit that was submitted to the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Ayodele and his wife will face theirs at the Federal High Court in Lagos.
Back in October 2017, president Buhari sacked Oke and Bababchir after he received a report of an investigation carried out by his vice, prof. Yemi Osinbajo, over fraud allegations leveled against the duo. Fifteen months after, the EFCC has deemed it fit to prosecute them.
