Buhari Not In Charge Of His Presidency – Saraki

2 Min Read
Saraki speaks on Foreign Direct Investment into Nigeria

Senate President Bukola Saraki has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is not in charge of his own government.

Saraki, who is the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation (PPCO), made this known while reacting to news that Ghana had overtaken Nigeria in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the West African sub-region.

According to Saraki, Nigeria’s drop in FDI is directly linked to the realisation by investors that Buhari is not in charge of the running of his administration.

The former Kwara State Governor said that the president had proved time and again that the buck does not stop at his table.

He called on Nigerians to vote for the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to reverse the trend.

Saraki, who appeared on a programme on AIT, said, “You know we have said many times that there is a government within the government.

“It is clear that the private sector doesn’t have the confidence and that is why if you look at the level of direct investment in the country, you will see that it is low. But our own candidate would drive that.

“He would be able to engage the private sector and inspire confidence to put in investment.”
