Chelsea coach, Maurizio Sarri has said that 31- year-old Spanish midfielder, Cesc Fabregas, needs to leave the London club amidst talks about a move to Monaco.
The former Arsenal man played against Nottingham Forest on Saturday and it has been seen as his last game by many.
Team mates, Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard have even both said their farewells and it seems like Sarri is also onboard with the midfielder’s departure.
Speaking ahead of his side’s Carabao cup Semi-Final against Tottenham Hotspurs, Sarri said: “I can say only my opinion, I don’t know the decision of the club. [And] in my opinion he needs to go.
“At this club there’s a rule, the renewal of players over 30 is for one year. I don’t want a player as important as Cesc unhappy.”

When asked if Cesc was already in the Principality, Sarri was more tight-lipped saying: “I don’t know, yesterday he had a free day for the injury, so I don’t know.”
On the topic of replacements, the Chelsea manager said he would want one as the hole left by Fabregas would be substantial.
“If Cesc goes, we will, of course, need a replacement. With midfielders we are in trouble I think because of the situation of [the injured Ruben] Loftus-Cheek.
“If the situation is serious or not, without Cesc we have only five [midfielders].”
