Former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has said that Igbos should be careful about any promises made by the All Progressive congress (APC)
The former president was speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting at Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State where he intimated those present that the ruling party would not hand over the presidency to them in 2023.
Obasanjo said that the Igbos need to take their destiny in their own hands
“I urged you the Igbo not to allow anybody to relegate you to the background because you occupy a place of preeminence in this country.

“The Igbo must bury their differences and work together for the actualisation of the Atiku/Obi project in their best interest.
“It’s dangerous to take the APC government seriously,” Obasanjo stated.
Obasanjo also praised PDP’s Vice Presidential candidate, Peter Obi and he advised him to reach out to major stakeholders in the south East and canvas their support for the upcoming elections.
“You and your presidential candidate have become the beacon of hope to all Nigerians who have had it so rough in the last four years.
“You need to think out of the box to take this country out of the woods caused by incumbent clueless administrators.
“With your pedigree as a governor, I’m hopeful that things will work again in Nigeria under your leadership as vice president.”
