The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani, has berated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led previous administrations for leaving behind many uncompleted projects.
The vocal senator, a member of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), made his position known in a Friday evening tweet.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (1999 – 2007), Alhaji Umar Musa Yar’Adua (2007 – 2010) and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan (2010 – 2015) were all presidents on the platform of the PDP.
According to Sani, the PDP administrations should not be expecting any accolades from Nigerians after leaving many projects uncompleted and abandoned.
He noted that many of the abandoned projects became “public toilets”.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has constantly complained about the many projects abandoned by the previous administrations.
A presidential aide, Tolu Ogunlesi, recently said: “the PDP Admin left behind HUNDREDS of abandoned projects that the Buhari Administration has been painstakingly completing, one by one. Only an IRRESPONSIBLE Govt would set aside important ABANDONED projects to instead be chasing the cheap glory of ‘We started our own!’”
Senator Sani said, “The previous Governments should not be expecting medals and applause for leaving behind a litany and legacy of uncompleted and abandoned projects, overrun with grasses and used as public toilets. In a marathon, the trophy always goes to those that breast the tape.”
