When asked about the Portuguese’s sacking, Marcelo said: “It’s a shame because he is a great coach, who is without a club. Whether he returns to Madrid is not up to me. He has done great things for Real Madrid.”
The Brazilian defender was in the company of his coach, Santiago Solari as the two fielded questions while at the Club World Cup where Real will be competing for the third straight season.
Real take on Kashima Antlers, the winners of last season’s AFC Champions League, the equivalent of the Champions League but for clubs in Asia and Australia
Speaking on their opponents, Solari said he would be wary of them: “They are a fast, dynamic team that likes direct football,” Solari said. “They have fast strikers and will be a strong opponent.”
