2 Min Read

The Aso Rock quest of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar got a major boost on Monday night as he was endorsed by 59 Buhari support groups.

The groups made their decision to support Atiku known at a ceremony in Abuja on Monday night, The Punch reported.

The groups’ representatives expressed disappointment in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, which they said they helped bring to power in 2015.

“Today, our country is faced with legions of challenges, our economy that was the fastest growing in Africa has become comatose under the present government which has shown that it was unprepared and completely clueless. We believe under Atiku, our economy will be revived and returned to the path of progress,” said Yusuf Ardo, the National Coordinator, Grassroot Mobilisers for Buhari, one of the groups.

“I am a student of Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano, things are very tight in the country. My father could no longer support my education on account of the economic downturn in the country. We decided to support Atiku because we believe he can do better,”

The Coordinator, Legend Youth Mobilisers, Abdulazeez Zubair, blamed the Buhari administration for causing the hardship being experienced in the country.

He said, “I am a student of Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano. Things are very tight in the country. My father could no longer support my education on account of the economic downturn in the country. We decided to support Atiku because we believe he can do better.”
