‘Ife Prince’ Lures American To Nigeria, Allegedly Rapes Her Repeatedly

3 Min Read

A real estate agent, Matthew Adedoyin, has been arrested for luring an American, Tawanda Lynn Jackson, to Nigeria and having carnal knowledge of her multiple times without her consent.

Adedoyin, 40, reportedly lured Jackson, a 46-year-old mother of five, to Nigeria after they met on social media.

He was said to have received Jackson at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja on November 11.

Although he initially booked Protea Hotel, Ikeja for her, he abruptly changed the hotel to Turn Up Hotel, Ipaja, in order to prevent the American Embassy from monitoring her.

After three days at the hotel, Adedoyin then moved her to a rented apartment belonging to his friend, Idowu Ayeni, in the Abule Egba area of the state.

The Embassy reportedly informed the Department of State Services (DSS) of Jackson’s disappearance.

The Director of Lagos State Command of DSS, Ms Betty Adoki said the agency’s operatives teamed up with men from the 9 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Lagos, to storm the residence.

“He (Adedoyin ) said that his father was a former king of Ife Titun , Osun State and that he was the heir apparent to the throne. He further cajoled the victim that he owned several buildings in Lagos , including where Jackson was held hostage .

“ But the victim started to suspect a foul play when he was losing patience and said he rented the place, a ramshackle place that he had earlier claimed his father owned, ” she said.

Adoki said that Adedoyin seized Jackson’s passport, credit card and US identity card in order to prevent her possible escape.

“ Consequently , on November 26, 2018 at about 0200hours , Jackson was rescued from the captivity of these criminal elements , who are suspected to be Internet fraudsters and kidnappers. Jackson was held hostage at No . 7 Akanbi Street , Abule Egba , Ifako- Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos by one Mathew Adedoyin and his accomplice , Idowu Ayeni, ” she added.
